Cynergin Consultants have been engaged by Wyevale Garden Centres to undertake a study which is being part-funded by the Carbon Trust. Cynergin will ascertain the existing carbon and energy footprint of the organisation and identify opportunities for reducing carbon emissions and costs. Technologies to be investigated include low energy lighting and alternative fuel technologies for heat and power.
Wyevale Garden Centres Ltd. offers a wide range of gardening products, such as propagation trays, gardening tools and watering equipment to garden furniture, barbeques and outdoor lanterns. It provides a variety of bulbs, trees, shrubs, bedding plants and houseplants and seeds throughout the United Kingdom. The company also offers various gardening equipment, such as electrical trimmers, saws, power cables and circuit breakers.
Wyevale have a substantial energy spend, covering a store base of 117 sites across the UK. Wyevale's aim is to align its products and operational standards with sustainable society themes in order to become the leader on environmental issues in the retail gardening/DIY sector.
Cynergin is an independent energy and carbon management consultancy that specialises in the development of ESCO and carbon Management contracts for the public sector.
