Cynergin are pleased to announce that we have been engaged by the British Museum to investigate the potential for a tri-generation project at their main site in Great Russell Street, London.

The British Museum is one of the UK's most prestigious institutions. The quadrangular building, designed in two stages, by Sir Robert and Rodney Smirke respectively, in the 19th century now holds over seven million exhibits, as testimony to the rich history of human cultures around the world. The Museum celebrated is 250th anniversary in 2003 with the restoration of the King's Library and is in the process of another major development, on the North West corner of the Bloomsbury site. The Museum has substantial heating, power and cooling requirements and offers good potential for a project which could include combined heat, power and cooling. Local power generation, coupled with efficient use of waste heat is established as a major means to reduce carbon emissions and costs of energy.

Cynergin is an independent energy and carbon management consultancy that specialises in the development of ESCO contracts for the public sector. Cynergin have been directly responsible for, or played a leading role in the development of, a large number of ESCO contracts in the UK public sector including contracts at the Natural History Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital NHS Trust, Heart of England Foundation NHS Trust and at the London Borough of Havering. All of these projects have a strong focus on demand-side management and contain an innovative energy saving guarantee. Our approach is widely adopted by public sector clients seeking to reduce energy consumption, their carbon footprint, to transfer risk and access capital.

Cynergin was founded at the turn of the century and has grown steadily and traded profitably throughout its history. Our major clients include, among others, the Natural History Museum, Wal-Mart, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and a number of Local Authorities. Cynergin holds company-wide accreditation from the Carbon Trust. A number of our consultants also hold individual accreditations from the same organisation.
